The main reason for travelers to come to El Nido in Palawan is to visit the beautiful islands around the Barcuid Bay. To swim in the world famous lagoons and to get the absolute remote island feeling.
And if you have a spare day in between island hopping tours, let me show you Nacpan Beach. It is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in Palawan.
Visit Nacpan Beach
Nacpan Beach is on the northern shore of Palawan Island and only twenty kilometers away from El Nido town. The beach is also known as the Twin Beaches Nacpan and Calitang because of its two parallel coast lines. The more calm side of the beach lies within a bay with beautiful views to the hills and mountains in the background.
On the other side of the shore the beach stretches for many kilometers far up to the other end and facing the open ocean. Coconut palm trees are stretching all their way up. If you are looking for a typical tropical beach day Nacpan Beach is for you!
No towns or big houses are nearby. Only farm fields, a few huts, the Mad Monkey hostel, booths selling fresh coconuts and mango shakes and a „Glamping“ campsite for luxurious overnight stays in big tents. The Glamping Nacpan is also officially among the best glamping campsites in the Philippines. On their website you can book one of those tents. There are many different options to choose, and watch the sun set in the evening over the sea.
Also don´t forget to bring your hat and enough sunscreen! The beach is facing to the South and West. The sun is burning down after midday for the rest of the day.
Getting to Nacpan Beach is so easy! The best way to get there is to rent a scooter for a day in El Nido and to ride up north to the beach which takes about 50 minutes.
For me, it was the first time ever riding a scooter and I loved it! It is so much fun and the drive is just beautiful. It leads over hills and along farm land, rice fields and little villages. People are so friendly and greeting you along the way. It is amazing just to see how the locals live their lifes in the most simple but happy way.
The road conditions are also good and safe to drive. However before arriving at Nacpan Beach the road will turn into a dirt road, so you must be careful and drive slow.
When arriving at Nacpan Beach visitors have to pay a small enviromental fee of 50Pesos. If you keep the receipt and wanna come back to Nacpan a second time, you don´t have to pay again.
Nacpan Beach is definitelly worth to visit while you stay in El Nido. Especially after a day out on the islands and on the boats. It is a good change and a perfect way to spend a relaxing day on a beautiful beach in the Philippines.
